EFFECTIVE TEST EQUIPMENT
The Dynalab XL Series offers four models of Circuit Analyzers capable of testing up to 2048 points. Their user-friendly 4-button user interface and easy-to-read displays are not only simple to use, but also provides a powerful array of test functions. Each Analyzer operates as a stand-alone unit, is capable of storing up to 32 programs in memory, and can be programmed to test for the following:

  • Continuity
  • Shorts (mis-wiring)
  • Diodes - Tests for presence and polarity.
  • Resistors - The tolerance is adjustable.
  • Capacitors - Tests both normal and polarized capacitors.
Each program can perform multiple tests and can even test multiple assemblies. The pass/fail criteria for each of these tests is completely controllable by adjusting the following test settings:
Test Voltage: 2 - 12 Volts
Threshold Voltage: 0 - 10 Volts
Test Current: 40µA - 10mA

Dynalab truly combines ease of use, multiple test modes, speed, and flexibility to produce low-cost, powerful, and effective test equipment.

COMPLETE AND TOTAL CONTROL
Dynalab Circuit Analyzers use the latest in microprocessor technology to combine capabilities of a continuity tester with the functionality of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). These Analyzers can collect and print data, instruct your operators, control other devices, read inputs, communicate with a computer, and much, much more.

Each testing program not only contains information about the continuity; it also contains "Sequence commands" instructing the Analyzer how to test. It is this Sequence that gives complete control over testing.

Sequence commands make it possible for the Analyzer to:
  • Test separately for continuity, shorts, resistors, diodes, capacitors, or even check the state of switches that may be part of the test fixture.
  • Analyze the results of a test or some input to "decide" what action to perform next.
  • Display custom messages and sounds to instruct operators, show data, or request input.
  • Test multiple circuit configurations for wire harnesses that must change state during testing. Examples include diodes or shorting bars installed after assembly, switches that must be tested both opened and closed, or relays activated during testing.
  • Assist the operator by instructing them to build the harness wire-by-wire (using your wire, connector, and pin names).
  • Control external devices like relays, mechanical clamps, lights, stamping equipment, power supplies, or even additional test equipment.
  • Communicate with label printers, bar-code scanners, computers, or any other RS-232C capable device.
  • Sound an alarm or withhold an inspection label if the operator removes a harness that has not passed testing.
  • Monitor the assembly process to catch errors when created.
  • Collect test data for quality control.
The flexibility of Dynalab Circuit Analyzers, offer limitless possibilities - providing complete and total control over testing.

UNLIMITED INFORMATION
Rather than limiting error information to the numbering scheme of some analyzer, Dynalab Analyzers work with symbolic information - like wire colors and names that you choose for wires, connectors, and pins. If errors are found the Analyzer clearly reports them using these names so that operators can quickly and easily find the problem. To help operators locate errors even faster, LED's, mounted next to the error locations, can automatically be illuminated.

If monitoring quality is a concern, you'll be pleased to learn that Dynalab Circuit Analyzers are also capable of logging errors. In fact, the XL Series Circuit Analyzers can each store over 8,000 errors in internal memory using the Data Logging feature. This Data Log can then be periodically uploaded to a PC for analysis. Dynalab Analyzers can also capture data in real-time by sending each error to a printer or to a PC for advanced data handling.

POWERFUL PROGRAMMING TOOLS
Dynalab's Program Assist Software System (PASSŪ) allows you to create testing programs based on your exact circuit test specifications - without compromise. This PC compatible software provides an accurate and efficient way to create a wire harness testing program directly from your prints or assembly instructions. Wire harness data from CAD software packages can even be imported to automatically create PASSŪ files.
PASSŪ generated programs can then be downloaded to a Dynalab Circuit Analyzer using a standard RS-232C cable. Programs can also be transferred from Analyzer to Analyzer with a DynaCard II memory cartridge, capable of storing 32 programs. These powerful programming tools make it simple to accurately program your Dynalab XL Series Circuit Analyzers.

Programs can also be generated by an Analyzer, using a "known good" harness or cable assembly.
